They have been thoroughly assessed with 2 fleece weights and 2 fibre measurements and visual assessment prior to cataloging. Rams below the top 20 and flock sale rams will be available for sale privately afterwards.
The Hazeldean selection system initially identifies 120 of the best young rams (out of a total drop of 1,200) at their first visual and measured assessment which occurs in early June when the rams are 10 months of age.
They are then run through until the following January (17 months old) where the selection is further refined on the basis of another classing, fleeceweight and fibre test. From this analysis Hazeldean selects the very best for its own use and then the next 20 form the elite auction team. We would appreciate it if you could let us know if you will be joining us for breakfast.
