Hazeldean Oscar is a son of Hugh and has become a well proven sire at Hazeldean. Oscar carries two crosses of the outstanding Hazeldean 2-9558 in his pedigree as well as Hugh. He is in the top 1% for Yearling Clean Fleeceweight and top 2% for FP+ and MP+ indexes. Oscar has performed very well in sire evaluations - 2017 SA Central Test Sire Evaluation and 2017 Macquarie sire evaluation and has recently been selected as a link sire by Australian Merino Sire Evaluation (AMSEA) Executive Officer Ben Swain to be used in 2 sire evaluation sites for 2020 matings. Oscar has been selected as a result of his high accuracy and connectedness through Sheep Genetics and AMSEA and also because he is unusually plain bodied relative to his fleeceweight and fibre ASBVs.
